From Hollywood’s leading men to chart-topping rappers and musicians, let’s hear it for the It Boys who consistently bring their fashion A-game to the Met Gala on the first Monday in May.
While some may opt for a traditional yet timeless suit, the standout gents at the party of the year are those who demonstrate that they aren’t afraid to push the sartorial envelope. Interpreting the respective dress code through a myriad of bold prints, unexpected textures and non-traditional silhouettes, the common thread between the most memorable moments is impeccable tailoring.
For 2019’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” Harry Styles embraced the evening’s more-is-more aesthetic in a bespoke Gucci by Alessandro Michele ensemble, including a sheer black lacy top with a large frilly bow, accessorized with a single pearl earring and a pair of chunky men’s heels.
Fast-forward to 2023’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” when ASAP Rocky channeled the Kaiser in a red Gucci kilt, referencing a style Lagerfeld wore in 2004. Pearl-encrusted jeans paid homage to the French fashion house, while a leather tie and glove were quintessentially Karl.

To top it off, he carried a bouquet of roses crafted from the same material as his natty wool suit.
